Mr James His Protection
Whereas I have appointed the bearer hereof John James my servant to give his personall attendance upon me and otherwise to be imployed by me during this present Session of Parliament, These are therefore to require you and every of you to permit and suffer him the said John James peaceably and quietly to passe in and about my affaires and busines without anie your arrests molestacions troubles imprisonments or other disturbance whatsoever which may tend to the infringing of anie the rights customes and privilidges belonging to anie peeres of the Realme or Knights Cittizens and Burgesses of the House of Parliament As you and every one of you will answere the contrary att your perils
